An Apology

Dear Sara,
Please accept these small tokens in the spirit with which they are intended, by way of an apology for today's events.
It was my fault and, if I could undo it, or do something differently, something that would not have led those people to Liam's doorstep and to you, then I would do it in an instant.
You're a lovely, sweet young lady and I don't have the [polite] words to express my displeasure and my distaste for their behaviour.
Linus was a hero today; I wish I could have been him.
